Green-ness

For today and tomorrow only (May 24th and 25th), Trafalgar Square (well, part of it anyway) has been covered with grass. Apparently this is supposed to promote the city’s parks and green spaces. Hmmm.

I went along after work today to have a look.

It doesn’t look as great in reality as it does here for example, but still, the atmosphere was fab.

I’ve never seen such a buzzing and happy atmosphere there before

Friendly guy he is. He asked where I was from – I said ‘Nowhere – I just take pictures as a hobby’ and he gave me an odd look as if to say ‘Okaaay’.

Fashionable Brits

Many people were completely baffled at the sight of the grass with a few asking me what it was all about. Random Brits asking other random Brits questions? That’s unthinkable! The presence of grass obviously makes people more sociable. The grass rocks. Two days isn’t long enough – they should keep it there until the weekend at least : (
